Designed for mechanically ventilated and anesthetized adult patients in intensive care units, emergency rooms, and surgical suites, this combined Heat and Moisture Exchanger (HME) and Bacterial-Viral Filter delivers dual-action respiratory protection. When patients are intubated, normal upper airway humidification and filtration are bypassed; this device captures the patient’s exhaled heat and moisture within its hygroscopic membrane and returns it during inspiration, preventing airway drying, mucosal damage, and thickened secretions. Simultaneously, the integrated hydrophobic electrostatic filter provides greater than 99.9% filtration efficiency against airborne bacteria and viral pathogens, effectively safeguarding the patient from nosocomial infections and preventing cross-contamination of delicate ventilator circuits. It features standard 15 mm / 22 mm ISO-conical connectors for leak-free attachment to endotracheal tubes, closed suction systems, and breathing circuits, alongside a dedicated gas-sampling port with a secure Luer lock cap for continuous end-tidal CO2 monitoring. Supplied individually sterile-packed in a protective box of 25 units, it provides a safe, low-resistance breathing interface for adult critical care.
